Chiropractic Care

Corrective and Restorative Chiropractic Care

Teaming Up for Optimal Health

Health is a journey. We are so honored that you are looking to chiropractic care to start making this journey into health. Many people come into a chiropractors office just to reduce symptoms but most chiropractors regard the elimination of symptoms as the easiest part of a person’s care.

If all that the chiropractor does is to reduce the pain and stop there, the chances of the condition recurring are much greater. This is why we provide whole body care including muscle work with our adjustments. Your symptoms may go away quickly but that does not mean that the root issues of the cause is gone. We want to make sure this issue doesn’t come back for you in the future.

During the correction / restorative phase of your care, we will be seeing you more frequently. We are trying to remove the issues and correct the root causes. We will start to incorporate exercises, stretches and other things you can do at home.

Do not be discouraged if you have mild flare-ups in your symptoms on occasion. This is normal. Flare-ups are bound to occur during this phase because your body has not fully healed. Depending on the severity of your injury or condition and how long you have been suffering from it, this phase of your care may last anywhere from a few months to a couple of years.

During the maintenance/wellness you will not have to receive adjustments as often as you did during the getting out of pain phase or the corrective/restorative phase of care. Maintenance is just what it sounds like. Maintaining that level of function and care in your body. Wellness is when you are coming in just for a tune up or to make sure your body is doing well.

Core Chiropractic Techniques We Use at Gardner Chiropractic Family and Wellness Center

Chiropractic care is centered around spinal health and its impact on the entire body. Our chiropractors utilize a range of techniques to address pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall function. Here are the fundamental techniques we use:

Spinal Adjustments

The cornerstone of chiropractic care, adjustments help realign the spine, relieve pressure on nerves, and promote the body’s natural healing process.

Diversified Technique

This is the most widely used chiropractic adjustment. It involves applying targeted, controlled thrusts to manipulate joints, particularly in the spine, to restore proper alignment and movement.

Other Techniques:

  • Soft Tissue Therapies: Techniques like massage therapy, trigger point therapy, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization can target muscle tension and pain points to improve flexibility and range of motion.
  • Rehabilitation Exercises: Chiropractors often prescribe specific exercises to strengthen core muscles, improve posture, and promote stability, all contributing to long-term pain management and injury prevention.
  • Modalities: Technologies like ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cold laser therapy may be used to reduce pain and inflammation and promote tissue healing.
  • Nutritional Counseling: Dietary advice can be provided to support healing and address any nutritional deficiencies.
  • Lifestyle Modifications: Recommendations on posture, ergonomics, sleep habits, and stress management can contribute to improved well-being.

We look beyond symptoms to find the root cause of your issues, offering solutions that are tailored to your unique needs. Our goal is to not only relieve pain but to enhance your body’s natural ability to heal itself.
