Q: What is chiropractic?

A: The nervous system is the master system of the body.  It controls and coordinates everything. When there is interference of the nervous system, called a vertebral subluxation, which causes dis-ease. This dis-ease can eventually lead to illness. Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.

Q: What is a subluxation?

A: A subluxation is an alteration of the biomechanical and physiological dynamics of connecting structures which can cause neural disturbances. To put it simply, it is an interference of nerve flow from the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body.

Q: What does a chiropractor do?

A: Chiropractors apply a gentle and quick thrust to the subluxation, called an adjustment, this restores nerve flow and joint motion.

Q: What kinds of issues can a chiropractor help with?

A: A chiropractic adjustment can be beneficial with many things. Chiropractors are most widely known to help with neck and back pain but we can help with so many other things. Including but not limited to: headaches, extremity pain, breathing difficulties, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, and spinal disc issues.

Q: Does an adjustment hurt?

A: After the first adjustment, many people feel soreness similar to working out after a period of not doing anything active. However, this soreness will disappear after a few days.

Q: How does chiropractic help children?

A: Chiropractic has many benefits for children. Starting from birth, kids are susceptible to falls, cuts, and other traumas, which can lead to nervous system problems. Many parents also indicate improved sleep, improved behavior, and improved immune function.

Children enjoy being adjusted. With infants, the child will lay on their mom or dad, and can be adjusted by hand or with an adjusting tool called an Activator. The Activator is a spring loaded mechanism that gives an even lighter adjustment.

Q: How does chiropractic benefit during pregnancy?

A: As you know your body is undergoing many changes in pregnancy. One of the changes is with your pelvis and your sacrum. As your hips become wider to prepare for the birth, the ligaments in your pelvis are becoming loose which can lead to an unstable pelvis and back pain. Regular chiropractic visits during pregnancy can help the body better prepare for the birth process.

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: We do not accept insurance due to the limitations on your care from the insurance companies. However, we will print out a receipt that you can send to your insurance company and they will send you any reimbursement directly or can apply it to you deductible. We have many payment options that will suit your specific needs.

Q: How much do you charge?

A: Our consultation and examination ranges between $70 – $125 and each adjustment starts at $50. We do offer family prices and wellness membership plans as well.
